How to set up
1
Open Building Setup
From your director dashboard, click Building Setup or find it in the sidebar.
2
Enter basic details
Add the building name, address, and total number of residential units.
3
Set management structure
Indicate whether the building is RTM, RMC, or professionally managed. This affects which compliance tools are surfaced.
4
Add insurance details
Record the current building insurance policy, provider, and renewal date. This drives compliance reminders later.
5
Record freeholder and safety information
Add the freeholder’s details (if applicable) and fire safety responsible person.
6
Save and review
Once saved, the building record becomes the source of truth for documents, finances, and compliance tracking.
Why it matters
An accurate building setup means:- Service charges calculate correctly based on unit count
- Compliance reminders use the right insurance renewal dates
- Residents see the correct building name and address
- Documents and issues are tied to the right property
Editing later
You can update Building Setup at any time if details change — for example, after an insurance renewal or if the freeholder changes.Tips
Be precise with the address
The address is used for legal notices, insurance, and service charge calculations
Set the unit count correctly
This number is used across budgets, service charges, and voting thresholds
Record insurance early
Insurance expiry triggers compliance alerts — getting the date right avoids missed renewals
Review annually
Update the record after each AGM, insurance renewal, or change of agent
