## Overview

Finance in Manage.Management is role-specific. Directors and management companies get a broader workspace for running the building's finances, while leaseholders and shareholders get a clearer resident view of charges, invoices, payments, and accounts.

## Director and manager finance workspace

Directors and management companies work through a set of finance tabs:

| Tab                          | What it covers                                                                |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overview** | Headline financial position for the building at a glance |
| **Transactions** | Record and review the cash movements behind the accounts |
| **Budgets & Planning** | Annual budgets and forward planning |
| **Service Charges** | Demands, invoices, and payments for resident billing |
| **Section 20 Consultations** | Major-works consultation workflows and notices                                |
| **Reports & Analysis** | Reporting tools for directors, including governance health and arrears ageing |
| **Xero** (directors) | Connect Xero for accounting where enabled |

  <Step title="Complete financial setup">
    Start with the building's financial setup so the rest of the tabs reflect the right service-charge and reporting structure.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Work through the main tabs">
    Use the tabs above for day-to-day work — most activity happens in **Transactions** and **Service Charges**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use specialist tools where enabled">
    Section 20 workflow support, bank-transaction views, Xero, and MRI/Qube import surfaces appear where enabled for your organisation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Collecting payments online

Where a management company has enabled online payments (via **Mollie**), residents can pay service charges and request fees directly in the platform with a **Pay now** button. Buildings without online payments show residents clear **bank transfer** details instead, with an *I've made payment* confirmation step so management can reconcile.

## Resident money view

Residents see a simpler experience with **Overview**, **Service Charges**, and **Section 20 Notices** tabs — answering the most important questions without exposing the whole management workspace.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Current service-charge position">
    Review the headline balance or status for the selected property or unit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Breakdown and invoices">
    Check the line items and any outstanding invoices that still need attention.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pay online or by bank transfer">
    Pay outstanding charges with **Pay now** where online payments are enabled, or follow the bank-transfer details shown.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Payment history and annual accounts">
    Use the same area to review historic payments and the building's shared annual financial records.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Major works context">
    Section 20 notices, where applicable, surface alongside the resident money view rather than in a separate silo.
  </Step>
</Steps>
